To facilitate access to the exploration target, a dedicated drift of 200 meters was opened. From 9 drilling stations a total of 1,300m, alocated into 27 boreholes ragning from vertical to sub-horizontal, will be drilled aiming directly to the Far North exploration target.
The project requires high-quality drilling techniques and high-recovery in the soft talc. Best-practices applied by Geotest ensure best recoveries, not only in the talc but also at the contact between hanging-wall waste and the ore.
The project includes a downhole survey measurement at the end of each borehole. The service is powered by Devico's state-of-the-art gyroscopic instrumentation (DeviGyro) operated by our experienced geologists on site.
Project Challenge
High-recovery requirement and drilling in confined underground space.
High-recovery
Soft ore material (talc)
Tight underground space and best possible housekeeping
Self-supported in power and air circulation engineering
RESULTS
Excellent core recovery reported so far with very promising ore intersections.
